If a cell phone or PDA is unlocked can i use my existing wireless plan on it?

I'm looking at buying a refurbished "BlackBerry 7290 Unlocked GSM" online. It says it is unlocked, no activation required. I already have a sprint PCS wireless service plan for cell phone, etc... Will I be able to activate my existing service on the blackberry if I buy it? Thanks!
