I have a 2000 dodge ram 1500 with a 318 i have replaced the ignition coil 3 times?

but everytime it gets hot and i shut it off it will not start i bought an arc tester and it does not have an arc off the top of the ignition coil but it has 12.2 voltage going into the clip on the bottom
