How to breed my ball python?

ok well i bought a female normal ball python from l.a exotics just today and it already arrived. supper stoked! well anyway im not sure on how to breed them becos ive heard i have to cool them down for a period of time but the guy i got him from doesnt cool down his reptiles. ok i have a 09 male pastel i would like to breed to her, he might be ready to breed but my question is when i know for sure if i can breed him what should i do should i just throw him in with the female and see if they connect or what? i only want ppl that actually know about these things not just some persons apinoin. thanks! oh and yes the female is ready to breed just wondering if i should just throw the two in a same cage, let me know thanks!
