Computer problems after sleep/standby mode.?

This problem started a little over a week ago. Lately, every time I put my computer into sleep mode nothing seems to work after I wake it up. I click on my Mozilla, it show like it's loading, then nothing happens. Half of the items do that and the other half open up then freeze right away. I restart my computer and everything works again. Yes, you can say to shut my computer down every time but that gets too hard on your computer and I only put it to sleep for a few hours then I am back on it. It seems to started after I had an update for my BR Drive. I was thinking about restoring my computer before that update and seeing what happens. What do you think? In case your wondering I am on a computer that I built. I am running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core Processor. 4GB of ram. Nvidia GeForce GTX 280. I am not computer illiterate so no need to try and simplify everything. You can talk tech. with me. Thanks for your help.
